I've had a Vizio for two years now and have experienced no IR problems that the screen washer feature couldn't handle.

newer plasmas now have a feature to help prevent ir, on my pioneer its called "orbiter", where the screen shifts a few pixels every so often, you don't notice it when watching tv, not sure what its called on panasonics but i know they have a similar feature, look in your menu options, i leave the "orbitor" on all the time.

Make sure you turn blacks to greys on your menu options.

I have the larger version of that television, and I have no problems whatsoever, but I have every anti IR option on. I think there was even one in madden, or on the xbox options.

My TV has that too on top of the aforementioned scrolling bar.

Sadly, as I said, the UK model does not have any anti image retention features. Not sure why but there you go.

Bummer.
