I just got torched by Matt Cassel.. and noticed that the Patriots are still rated at 97 even tho Tom Brady is on IR.

So, what is the TEAM number based on then, if not the combined ratings of the starters or players on the active roster?

Team ratings are pretty much meaningless ... the original (unedited) ratings aren't even based on the team's player ratings. It seems EA comes up with their own idea of what each team should be rated at, rather than basing them off of actual players?
