Anyone else feel uninspired?

The worst part is, based on pre-release comments, Ian, Phil, Animator and company seemed to think this was a great playing Madden. Which doesn't give me hope for next year's release, either.

yea.. its kind of surprising how Out of Touch the EA Madden Dev/Production team is with not only how football should look and play in a video game, but also what the consumer's really want in the game.

Based on Ian's and Phil's comments now, they now seem to be on the same page as us.
But man..... how this game got so off target in the first place is whats really concerning me.

I just played a certain 4 year old football game (starts with NFL rhymes with 2K5) just to see if it was still a better game than Madden 09 or just nostalgia. After just a few minutes I'm even more uninspired (or is that less inspired?) with EA's latest effort.

You guys are all hitting the nail on the head as far as Madden goes. Really, the only excitement I get from Madden that lasts an extended period of time is playing online. That's great about 80% of the time, but can be frustrating at other times depending on the type of person you play against and whether they play unrealistically.

I've been excited to get back to NCAA, since the rotating of superstar players every 4 years keeps my interest longer and you can hop from different teams to build up. However, Dynasty is, per usual for EA, virtually identical as last year, and my interest is failing me. I was really excited for football games this year, and it's already over.

I may have to check out NBA 2K9, and perhaps Head Coach. It's a shame...

Yeah I think besides the online league, which is only fun cuz of the work the commisioners put in for a site/forum. I find Madden the single game experience so boring. I think Madden need to cross over Head Coach and Madden. Having Head Coach Sim Aspect and Madden's Gameplay, would be SOOOOO MUCH FUN.

Hopefully NBA2k9 association will be fun, but CPU trades will have to be turned off it seems.
