Signing Draftees?

Dont know if anyone has brought this up:

In the signing draftee screen during off season I tried to sign my #1 pick but pressing "A" while he was highlighted did nothing. Now he isnt a FA or anything. Anyone else seen this?

Have you hired a new head coach? If so there's your problem it resets all options to cpu. So you will have to go back and change the settings to user.

Change your 'Sign Draft Picks' setting to CPU after you sign the rest of the guys and move ahead to depth charts. The CPU will sign him and then you can change it back to USER.

Re: Signing Draftees?

Or you have a full roster. I hate that the game does not tell you this, or display the count anywhere (as in most other football games over the past 10 years). I discovered some of my draft picks on other teams when I could not locate them. I have everything set to USER, but it appears the computer takes over if you have a full roster and try to add.

I don't believe this is true, i've tried to add players in the past when i have a full roster and i just get a warning saying i have a full roster. Just have to go into player management and cut a player to open up a roster slot.

Re: Signing Draftees?

Not being able to click on your 1st rd pick is a bug.
The only way to fix this is to sign the rest of your rookies then go to franchise options and set "Sign Rookies" to CPU.
This will sign the unclickable rookie to the default contract.

If you've already skipped past this and have saved then there's nothing you can do.
He'll have signed a 1 year 750k contract with another team.
