My attempt at being funny - Epic Fail

(this is not an attempt at being funny, this is a true story. Moderator changed my headline.)

A frustrated Ian Cummings sat infront of his computer desk, trying to develop a Madden football game that will rival and hopefully defeat the 4 year old competitor: NFL 2K5.

"It's a nightmare. Four years old and still on our tails. We are trying everything in our best to put an end to the reign."

That was said about two weeks ago, now Ian Cummings is having second thoughts. He is deciding best for Madden to drop the exclusive licensing because they cannot live up for the hype.

A skeptical Ian spoke to us yesterday: "I interact with the gamers on the message board, they want the stuff and we just can't execute. Visual Concepts, Take2 Interactive - they're a superior company. The cost is too much for us to fix up our engine so we're going to have to drop the license deal."

Visual Concepts is under way with a football game as we speak, NFL 2K10 that is said to be one of the greatest achievements in video game football history. Football is restored once again.

Re: EA Surrenders Exclusive License

at misleading thread.

EA isn't surrendering the NFL license anytime soon, whether we like it or not. Frankly, I think Madden has made incredible strides on Next-Gen since the train wreck that was Madden 06, and I also think that Madden 09 is a fun, yet imperfect, football game. Finally, while it was a great game, I don't think NFL 2K5 is the football gaming nirvana that it's made out to be here.

Trolling. Locked. Thread Title edited so as not to confuse the user base that actually posts informatively instead of the trolls.

Sadly, we can only dream of what competition might have brought us by now with this gen of football games.
