Created Plays

I don't know how many people know this or have learned it but reacently I have figured out you can import created plays from NFL Head Coach. I think this is really cool and has gotten me to play HC more just so I can create plays.

I am aware of it and bought the CE of Madden 09 for this feature. Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to create any trick plays, like a WR reverse. Any ideas? I haven't spent much time in HC so I may be missing something but all the running plays I tried to create, only allowed for me to assign the ball to a RB.

I also find some of the stock Madden plays to be too shallow. For example on slants, every one seems to be a direct slant from the line of scrimmage, and none are a 5 yard and slant variety, so I may go in and see if I can set up a few "better" versions of existing plays. Some of the stock plays look so congested because the patterns are so shallow.

My opinion is that unless EA are going to massively overhaul the play creator in Head Coach, and add the same one to Madden they shouldn't bother.

There is no point at all in a play creator where you can't make play actions, or reverses or anything except a run or pass. There is also no point in a play editor if you can only put 78 plays in a created playbook.

I've heard that part of the reason that they don't include a deep play editor is because of online abuse. Well blow me (only take that literally if you are Avril Lavigne!), you can't even use created plays online anyway! The other reason I've heard is that it would be too complex. That's not a sensible reason either in my opinion. People will work it out. It's the same as any other feature. People aren't stupid.
