Re: Would You settle For A Lesser Madden That Was New?

His point is would you like them to do with madden what they recently did with fifa? Fifa had got to the stage (around 05) that Madden is at now. each year they were adding new features but some of the core mechanics (ball physics, player collisions) were so outdated and flawed that the game was stuck being nothing more than mediocre. What fifa did was scrap everything and start from scratch with fifa 06. Fifa 06 had a nice new physics engine but little else (no modes, few stadiums, no bells and whistles). They then added all the features back in over the last few years and this year for the first time since around 2000 fifa is getting better review than PES (the soccer equivalent of NFL 2k5). It is pretty much the perfect next gen soccer game.

In answer to the question madden wont start from scratch. ian already said they wouldnt be allowed to. madden is selling too many copies for any radical changes to be implemented.
