Madden NFL 10 - Looks like that's the name.

Sigh.... it's going to be " Madden X "

And then the theme is going to be Greatest Punt Returners because Dante Hall was/is the X-Factor.

So chances are it will get overdone and we will be able to return punts for touchdowns every time.

Then there will be a patch - renaming the game to Madden X 2.0 ... and someone else can finish the story from there . . .

Or how about "Madden NFL The Title Of The Pearl Jam Album With The Song Jeremy on it"

Or Maybe "Madden NFL 5 + 5 = This Years Version"


I think any of those would catch on.

Pearl Jam is re-releasing the album 10 next year, so maybe Madden NFL 10 is a cross-promotion after all! If Pearl Jam puts Adrian Peterson on the album cover, then we'll probably know for sure.

I always found it strange that it is named one year into the future. Madden 10 will be for the 2009 season. That has always bothered me, I hate how all sports games do this. I guess now that it is so established - it will never change.

We can take solace in the fact that the post-season aligns with Madden. This season's playoffs and Super Bowl will be in 2009. That's a way I make peace with it. lol

MLB The Show released an 06 title two years in a row so they could get back in sync with the current year.
