The nfl play off series in madden 09 is not configured correct?

I wish I read this before I started to re-sim the entire season over the past 3 nights. I do the same as the OP and I got the same results. This really stinks! I was hoping to play my Giants vs. the Eagles on the Giants quest for back to back Super Bowls.

when you sim the season, do you sim each individual game to get the desired result? Or do you sim through the season and just make sure you get the right records?

I sim to get the correct records...down to the Eagles tie against the Bengals.

I think the game goes by record in the second round regardless of the true seed. For example, the Giants have the best record in the NFC while the Cardinals have the worst record of the remaining teams (Eagles & Panthers), therefore the Giants get the Cardinals instead of the lowest seed (Eagles).

Same thing in the AFC. Since the Titans have the best record, they play the worst record (Chargers) instead of the lowest remaining seed (Ravens).

I sim to get the record..

however do their scoring like the way it was in real life play a more important factor? cause I play sim and even down to the tie I make it as accurate as possible but the score is impossible to recreate.

It would be nice if EA could have a franchise or season update download like roster updates in future maddens for the extreme simmers. where you have the option of either

A. constant upgrades and changes the season like time schedules etc. with the right stats mvp etc..and playoff mapping,

or

B. still continue with the original way and play.

yea i wasn't very clear, i understand you can't sim to get the exact score...but do you make sure each individual game is decided the way it was IRL? The only possible way I can see your 2nd round being off is if some of the head to head games were decided differently in your simulations than in real life.

EA has never gotten this right, they have the seeding correct but once you get to the divisional round the game goes by records. I do not know why they have never fixed this - cuz i brought this up like 4 years ago on PS2 and it is still broke on PS@ and the NG games. It is just improperly coded - I know big shocker right!
