Change Of Direction Animations

When defenders are in the backpeddle, and they need to turn L/R or come forward or go backward out of the backpeddle...we need a change of direction animation accompanied by a momentary ratings drop.

When recievers run routes, we need more pronounced change of direction animations for this.

Please, no more rounding off routes, or standing upright and gyro turning on one pivot foot 180 degrees while sliding in the desired direction.

Please, no more running full speed to cover a WR on a fly pattern and coming back to tackle the FB on a flare route for a two yard gain!

Without pronounced change of direction animations the players can negociate too much distance. I think this is a big reason why plays in Madden NFL 09 don't resemble plays from the NFL regular season.

A toss sweep should look like a toss sweep.

Why read coverages if the SS can get from the TE underneath short, to the deep middle third by the time the ball arrives.

The defenders have so much range because the have no change of direction animations and they don't slow down not one bit when they do change directions.

Thank you-

Absolutely. This is more or less what I was getting at when I said coverage was too good in Madden and I got ripped for it. Guys just have way too much range in coverage and have eyes in the back of their heads.

THIS IS A MUST

No, there is not nearly enough ground covered by defensive backs. The eyes in the back of the head thing, I agree with.

I agree, there needs to be many more change of direction animations, especially for route-running. I will say that rb change of directions are much better than in the past, but there needs to be additions.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that there really isn't analog movement in madden, but instead, it seems like there are only eight directions a player can move forward, right, left, back, and at 45 degree angles to those directions. Like I said, I'm not positive that this is the case, maybe Ian can answer that.

Re: Change Of Direction Animations

Its the technique that is the problem now. They have all the rating, they have the graphics, they have the atmosphere, they have the playbooks...they need PROPER TECHNIQUE.

Re: Change Of Direction Animations

This is exactly what I was referring to in my last thread. This should be a top 3 priority heading into the next release.
