Simple Franchise Question for OS posters....

I'm with Rocky on this one.

I don't like that the Franchise/Dynasty has no life in it. I want the Magazine headlines back. I want to read that my Packers rally back to beat rival Chicago on the frozen tundra, or when TJ Houshmanzadeh signs with the Seahawks(lol) I want to read or hear a report on the matter. Or when T.O. is upset with his QB and wants more balls thrown to him I want to know about it.

Management is a huge part of the game. But not as big in a video game. I need to really experience a season. Not just play through it.

But how special will that presentation be when they give the same reaction after every big win or loss? Sorry, but they would have to devote a TON of time to this in order for it to stay fresh, and that won't happen.

I think the Franchise Mode needs to be fixed in its management roots before they can worry about interviews or something.

Personally, if they devoted an entire year to make the Playoffs and Post Season more exciting as far as presentation goes it would take this game to a whole new level.

I am also with Rocky on this one. While next-gen Maddens have looked better, they still feel less real overall because of the complete lack of atmosphere.

I want to know who is lighting it up, who isn't living up to their potential, and which one of Drew Rosenhaus's clients is unhappy and demanding a trade this week.

But don't you also want to have trouble re-signing that player if he is on your team? Considering all you have to do is throw money in someone's direction as it is... You may have inadvertently made a case for Management.

Add me to the list of people who agree with Rocky on this one. I don't think that it would take that much time to make up some fake articles, implement realistic scouting and add some atmosphere to the draft. Maybe even a fake radio show like they used to have commenting on my teams FA signings, draft and milestones achieved. I think it could all be achieved easily in one production cycle if they really wanted to do it.

I also enjoy both sides of things... and from someone who is looking to be a coordinator in the future... of course the management side of things is what impresses me the most. The overall franchise mode is greatly increased with the presentation... the whole "rivalry" addition was pretty neat... but agree that the big games should have some sort of review or post game show touching on how crucial this game was in the division... for the playoff race... something.

I would also like to see more teams pursuing trades during and in the offseason... even though it doesnt always happen in the real NFL, it does happen more frequently in RL (real life) than the game...

ex. Cassel and Vrabel going to the chiefs for a 2nd round pick... that wouldnt fly in Madden ... simply wouldnt... or K2 (winslow) getting traded for undisclosed draft picks... you should be able to set a term on picks or even see some key moves during the offseason or before the trade deadline...
