Re: FB Dive Response Video

great post. I remember old madden had you run into the linemen you would stop and all that. I think they did this because they wanted players to have more "Control" but it just gave the game a arcade feel to it

Re: FB Dive Response Video

I am not going to go as far as to say that adding the full back animation didn't do anything to solve the problem. It will probably be a step in the right direction as to balancing the success of the fullback dive and is something that needed to be done. However, I will agree there needs to be more in terms of animations with the runner interacting with teammates around him. The running back needs to slow down and interact with the lineman he bumps into. Also, there needs to be time taken to reach full speed. As it is as soon as the back is free from his linemen he is up to speed and if there aren't tacklers around he is gone. In real life there he has no forward momentum and if tacklers are around he will be able to be stopped right there with very little chance to push forward. If noone is around there should still be time taken to reach top speed.

Great video and post. I would like to hear Ian's response to this and see if this can be fixed.

What is there to be confused about? He's saying it's too early to say their animation fix won't help solve the FB dive problem, and he's also saying he agrees with you, that there does need to be more runner interactions with the players around him on a whole, as well.

Seems pretty simple to me.

Re: FB Dive Response Video

Barry hits the hole and mostly when he hits a lineman he either bounces back or goes the opposite direction but NEVER goes forward
