A lot of it has to do with the perception Madden has built over the last few years. Although it's obviously frustrating for Ian (and I usually side with him and the team), I think the snarky remarks regarding Madden are well warranted. The game, over the last few years, has stagnated to the extreme. I'm sure the press will change their tune when/if Madden 10 reinvigorates the franchise as it's supposed to. Can't really blame them for being skeptical considering the last few games if they haven't paid attention to the regime change.
