I think that we have a lesson learned. The trailer OVERALL did not give a huge sensation that this game is much improved, or different then 09. There are probably a TON of new things in there, but when the game is in motion, it means nothing.

That's why I never understood the obsession with colored cleats, hand towels etc etc. The impact on the game is so minute it is ridiculous. Cool to have em', make absolutely no difference to me.

My question is this. If all the dev time put into those small cosmetic things, was put into animations such as "running", could that trailer have looked ten times better at this point in the dev cycle?

how soon then before the next footage, in game maybe?

Yeah I was really impressed with the video overall. There were some moments that did look really bad, but with a game this early in the production cycle that is to be expected. You guys are really doing a fantastic job.

Re: Whew. Well, now that that's over...

I was upset because the trailer gave so much ammo to guys like NFLHITMAN, who live to tear down Madden. I'm sick of hearing them and I was hoping to see something like what I played that'd shut 'em up.

Instead... ugh. I dunno, I realize the video was made to be a sort of recreation of the Superbowl, so it had to be made with everything tuned in a certain way to get the right results, but I'd have just as soon seen something of a fictional Superbowl, showing off the stuff working as it should.

Now that the Gametrailers exclusive video is past you guys, are you able to post some gameplay examples in blogs?

Also, it appears like a lot of issues regarding animations have to do with Gametrailer's compression. The NCAA video on IGN looks a lot smoother. Any chance we can get the video hosted on your server or something?
