You're right. It's very simple. Say you have 100% and you use 3% for the extra crowd. That's 3% that you cannot use for anything else. Everything takes up space. Isn't that basic science?

I think we probably have two different groups. You have some that see immersion in having more characters, and some who find immersion in ultra graphical detail.

I'm okay with having more characters until it causes the graphics to suffer, and then I don't feel like I'm playing the current generation anymore because I can see that graphics aren't all that they could be. I'm of the graphical detail group of course.
