if you don't mind, what do you mean when you say "placeholder"?

A placeholder is a screen or audio file they used to fill in a space when it's not done yet.

For example, during the coin flip, if they don't actually have the audio in the game for the commentary, there'll be a placeholder audio file with some dude from the sound team saying something along the lines of, "coin flip scriptable playing here."

I laugh whenever games sometimes accidentally leave placeholder text in place. I'm almost positive this was the case in Madden 08 for the 360. Something along the lines of " signs HB Samkon Gado to a 3-year extension". I can't remember exactly where, in the game, it was, but it was there.

I guess I can understand forgetting one or two. It's gotta be tough remembering where you put all those placeholders. You're bound to forget one.

I wish I was able to see NFL network, Stuck with espn these days

(In other words I have no idea of these great nfl network reporters)
