Re: Time to put things into perspective (long post)...
My personal perspective is...
I really had my doubts that EA/TIB was putting forth the commitment in resources needed to develop a worthy "Next gen" football game from '06' to '09'. The games in the time frame were imo...nearly all hype, and very little true substance. Even things that were there, in some cases were broken.[progression, draft logic, ect]
Forward now to Madden '10'. Like every Madden before it...M10 will/is suffering from some over hype in some peoples minds. But overall I doubt very many reasonable people would truly doubt the effort and commitment that has been put into this one year dev cycle. I guess in short what Madden '10' represents to me is...a re commitment by EA to bring Madden up to speed with some of these other now, "Current gen" sports games that have blown past it. Maybe not in sales [except FIFA] but in content. And in seemingly more satisfied customers. Just my 2 cents.
