Players ratings still too high.

Madden has done better in the last few year's in this department, but there is still room for improvements. I'm sure the development teams takes the real player ego into consideration when rating players (and ofcourse they look out for the coverboy) ,but just looking at the top players at each position I have to say players are still too high.

A 99 being the highest a player can go is a prefect player. Sorry but there are zero perfect players in the NFL IMO. And even if we where basing the ratings on all time greats we still should have zero 99's.

More specifically guys like Chris Johnson who has not been in the league long enough to even play at a consistent level to be rated a 99. Once again every player in the league has areas of their game which could be improved which means no 99's.

Why is everyone whining about player ratings? EA allows us to edit them how we please

Yeah, but it would be nice not to have to spend your first three hours of every roster update changing all the players to more fitting ratings. What happened to the stretching of the rosters? You know... mediocre is 65, bad is 50, good is 85, heading to the HoF is 95+.... get some distance between good and bad players so you can feel the difference.

Ratings are subjective, period. No matter what EA releases there will be a bunch of people that think they stink. At least we have the ability to re-rate as we see fit.

I might just be speaking for myself, but do you think you will see a huge difference if a lineman's strength goes from 84 to 80? I don't, and that is why I don't really care about the ratings.

True but you still have to use default ratings in online franchise and play-now games right?

I just recently moved to L.A. so now if I start a online league or just play a play-now online game I have to use the default rosters.

Agreed. I'm a big fan of stretched rating's so, I wouldn't mind if everyone was lowered at least 5-7 points. It's nothing to really dwell on though because we can adjust our own rating's how ever we want.
