Formation Subs were added back into the game last year but they were implemented in a different (worse) way then on the Xbox and PS2. Instead of being able to access the formation subs outside of the game via a menu. You had to do it within the game and initially people thought that the sibs would not hold game to game and you would have to make your subs each game

The good news was that if you made subs within franchise, the subs would hold throughout the season. For example, if you put S. Merriman at DE in the Nickel and Dime formation during Week 1...it would stay the rest of the season. Now I'm not sure if this was a mistake by the dev team or if they intended to implement it this way but I'm begging the Dev team to keep this in. I may be the only one but this feature is huge when it comes to realism and immersion in the game.

You aren't the only one, but I would also question EA's decision of removing the out of game menu. It was a bad decision and needs to be reversed.

Yeah it is well-documented how much people want this feature back in. I think it is huge, especially for special teams. I want total control of who is on the field for special teams.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I just hope beyond hope that the CPU will make intelligent moves like the one mentioned above. I hate being able to make subs and such, when the CPU can't or won't.

I'd also like to customize packages. I think the formation sub'll be back next year though.

You can already do that in 09 with the workaround. I just hope they dont remove it in 10.

I'll never understand why so many user options like formation subs and custom packages got removed with the change over to 360 and PS3. If anything, they should have been expanded upon or made more efficient.

Jokes aside, I agree. Formation subs workaround was a good setup and I hope it stays.
