In the Show u have a potential rating but it can change if someone has a breakout year or horrible year. I think if the Show and Madden's progression mixed it would be perfect but right now both are kinda sketchy.

Just because someone like DeAngelo Williams for the Panthers has a breakout season one year doesn't mean he'll have an equally as good season next year. Deangelo had an 86 ovr rating in 09 which means he was average. Someone like Randy Moss who performs great every season will never drop below 90 ovr because his natural abilities and skills are still there.

Deangelo Williams has great potential now but nobody knew he was going to do so good last season. The performance of someone in a particular season dictates what people believe they will accomplish in the next.

Everyone believes that Darren Sproles is going to do well this season because of his performance last season. Before that, nobody cared about him unless there was a kickoff coming his way.

I think if you have one outstanding year with him he should go up like 2 points. If you do it again the next year he should go up like 2-5 points. That would make me happy.

Also what does it matter if he sucks in real life? Madden isn't real life!
