I hear (uh, I think) what you're sayin' about a game mechanic. You liked it, thought it was abused (online, maybe? You don't say where), and now it's removed. Okay. Gotcha'. Not sure, though, who you think the culprits are. I never used it much. So maybe the abuser is me. You know, abuse by disuse.

The Lead blocker was unrealistic and abused. You might have liked it if you never played online with those glitchers. Otherwise the lead blocker was a "game killer" Tell me how it is realistic that I can get a minimum of 8 pancakes a game with a TE against a Defensive end.

The pancake animations also looked awful and shameful. Tell me how any lineman, without even taking four steps at the line of scrimmage, could send a D-lineman head over heels flat on his back. That makes no sense when it comes to physics and was just another "flashy, overexaggerated animation in Madden 09"(which there were many of i.e. nearly all of the truck animations)

you shouldn't have to use "lead blocker" for a player who should make the block regardless or at least get in the defenders way. the player should make the block without one have to take control.

the lead blocker was put in so madden didnt have to fix the lineman and fullbacks missing blocks and people could do it themselves but it turned into a guaranteed block
