Re: 27 Items in the Madden Shop

This unbelievable.

Even though this news has no effect on me, I must complain.

Have any of you played battlefield heroes???

You can buy upgrades to weapons and new clothing, but each thing lasts for 1 MONTH!!! That means you have to keep buying it again each new month.

Every new game is coming out with DLC.

HEard of the SIMS 3???

FIFA 09! yes 09.

So in short. BLAME EVERYONE.

DLC makes sense as long as it doesn't infuriate the fans.

Paying for an extended map with a new storyline, characters, items, and vehicles within the GTA IV world makes sense. I'd rather pay for that type of DLC than take a chance on a game I don't know much about for triple the price.

However, a sports game is a much trickier undertaking when it comes to DLC.

It should be about keeping the game fresh and not offering "cheats." I don't mind paying to have more storage space for videos or new commentary.

Whatever. As long as it doesn't impact the competitive balance within an Online Franchise. As long as it can be turned off.

I think charging for Gamer Pics and Themes is a little much, but I still check everyday to see if M10 has added any to the mix. (We need some M10 pics and themes!)

What about NFL uniforms for the avatars? That has to be coming, doesn't it? More and more games are going to tie into the avatars.

Re: 27 Items in the Madden Shop

I don't have a problem with the DLC, because I won't be buying it.

I do have a problem with the direction games are heading. It seems like we are headed for a situation where things on the disc are withheld from people just so they can squeeze you for every penny. As long as people keep buying these things the developers will keep charging them for it.

I just hope we never have to pay $60 for a shell of a game, and then have to pay another $40 in microtransactions just to get the things we have always had.
