I'd also like to chime in that 2k players do not care who the hell develops the game. If EA trumped 2k, I'd be the first person to congratulate them.

However, this is not the case. Madden NFL 10 has the bells and whistles that 2k had. In some areas, they have even exceeded 2k5 in terms of presentation, though 2k delivered a better rounded package overall (commentating was far superior, half-time/post-game shows were superior. Weekly Sportcenter, you name it).

Why does Madden have tronn-jogging after 5 years? Why does Madden have unrealistic player interaction after 5 years? Why does Madden STILL have rocket-catch? Why can the develops not program lineman properly? Why can't the developers make the players move fluidly and not like robots? Why are the QB drop-backs STILL not realistic?

Until these questions are answered, Madden will always play second fiddle to the "other football franchise".

I don't think most people expect a perfect game. They just expect it to improve substantially from the year before. That doesn't always happen, and sometimes they even take a step back. It wasn't until Madden/NCAA 2009 that EA finally created a nextgen football game that didn't lag horriblly online.

Enough with the invalid technology excuse. Backbreaker is already doing it. These consoles are more than capable. Football doesn't have as much going on as a lot of games do and they have physic engines. Madden is a monopoly and people keep buying it year after year...this is why they don't want to change anything because casuals and fanboys keep buying it plus they have no competition. But once again I can't blame them. I blame the NFL license

Lol I bet you'll get banned now. =P

As for positives, I gave positives in the OP. I said all the presentation is nice, but I care about the gameplay more. If you don't have gameplay, what do you have?

Ever heard of the saying, "You can't add onto a building with a broken foundation"?

yes there were things in NFL FEVER even that are just now making it into Madden but there were/are also a helluva lot more things not in the last gen games that are built into the new game (many that we don't see on the surface). Again, there is only so much room to make it as complete experience as possible and trade-offs are made for use of the processing power including animations.

Regardless if thats you or not *which i think it is*..its not that we are saying people cant give their constructive critisism, thats good, that helps the game become better but do it in the right manner and in a respectufl manner because Madden10 has made some nice changes this year and it needs to be recognized ..but some of you guys including yourself from looking at your post history are deliberately trying to put the game down every rip you get and quite honestly..it spreads like cancer around here.

The thing is..some of the people b1tch'n are b1tch'n just to b1tch and YOU NEVER SEE A BIT OF ENCOURAGEMENT OR POSITIVE REMARKS FROM THEM... take yourself as a good example, look at your post history, not a single positive remark from ya!!

Bottom line: For all the drastic changes made this year..its people like you that cant give a freaking INCH and acknowledge any of the positive improvements this year..so that leads many of us to believe that your blatantly just bashing the game to bash it..because your either a fan of another game or your like a spoiled rich women that just likes to complain...

Some food for thought: If some of you complainers would show some positive posts, replies, etc for the damn game..maybe you all wouldnt be singled out so much? eh? Take that to the bank ...
So, I walk into Burger King for the fifth time in my life. I decide to buy a Whopper. The Whopper's taste has let me down in the past, but I give it a shot anyway.

They prepared the Whopper better this time around. The meat was prepared better, the buns are nice and crisp, and the burger was stacked properly and much neater. However, the pickles, onions, and lettuce still taste like crap, and they forgot to add ketchup.

So, you're telling me I should walk out of Burger King, after finishing my meal, and tell people how much better Burger King is preparing their burgers?

Hell, no! I'm going to tell anyone I see to stay away from Burger King until they learn how to make a burger worth purchasing.

That's the mindset people have. We're not salesman. We're not EA representatives. So, why the hell are people expecting us to act like the game is perfect, and that we should be lucky to even have an NFL football game?

wrong

football games (and most large arena games) let alone one with 22 players, good logic, plus 70k fans plus refs etc are the MOST processor intense games on the market. More than any of your favorite shooters or RPg or action games
