Re: Miami Dolphins Franchise

That is true about Coughlin, but Nicks is a very good player. He has the best pair of hands on the team and is physical enough to beat the press that most rookie wr's struggle with.

I don't want Hixon to be on the field that much to be honest. I only want to see him be subbed in or in 4-5 wide sets. He belongs in the return game where he is very talented.

Who was the last rookie WR that got compared to Michael Irvin? If your a rookie and you are compared to a HOF player, thats impressive. I really think Nicks is gonna be something special and i truely believe he has the most talent out of the group of WRs we got.

Maybe your right, he may end up being in the slot, but i would prefere him as the #2 guy.

I would like the opening line up to look like this:

Smith
Nicks
Moss
Manningham
Hixon
Barden

If anyone deserves the #1 spot, its Smith. I don't believe Hixon is a #1 let alone a #2. I change my mind, lol, and i think this will be the opening day lineup.

Re: Miami Dolphins Franchise

Perhaps I'll do an Atlanta one maybe?

QB-Matt Ryan: Obviously he's the QB of the future and one you build around. Backups are solid, not spectacular.

RB-Michael Turner/Jerious Norwood: Turner is one of the best in the league right now, but he's 27 and in a few years he'll be a lumbering mush. Norwood has speed but is inconsistent. Depending on how Turner progresses, I may try to trade him after the 2010 season because I'm sure at 30, with a heavy carry load, he's going downhill fast.

FB-Ovie Mughelli: He's a good blocker and fairly highly rated. He'll be there for a few more years before the team has to move in a new direction.

WR-Roddy White/Michael Jenkins/Harry Douglas: White is a top 10 WR in the league right now but is going to want a HUGE extension soon, but he'll get paid by my Falcons. Jenkins and Douglas both improved big time last year and should see continued improvement. I might try to improve the WR core behind White, but probably leave intact until the 2010 draft.

TE-Gonzalez: Well, well well, what have we here? Best TE in the league? But he's in his 30s and he's going to start going downhill quickly, so I may try to parlay him into another good TE after the 2009 season.

OL: Continue to develop the OL as his with the young guys and get some backup depth and then draft for success in the 2010 draft.

Defense... um, well, I could draft D in every round for the next two drafts and it still wouldn't help.

QB-Matt Ryan: Obviously he's the QB of the future and one you build around. Backups are solid, not spectacular. i know right...

RB-Michael Turner/Jerious Norwood: Turner is one of the best in the league right now, but he's 27 and in a few years he'll be a lumbering mush. Norwood has speed but is inconsistent. Depending on how Turner progresses, I may try to trade him after the 2010 season because I'm sure at 30, with a heavy carry load, he's going downhill fast. i would keep him even when he gets older, he'll be a nice 3rd down back, i dont see his speed dropping below 86. also i would look into gettin edgerrin james from FA (not a dire need) but norwood can be inconsistent. ill use norwood on passing situations *i love throwing to the RBs*

FB-Ovie Mughelli: He's a good blocker and fairly highly rated. He'll be there for a few more years before the team has to move in a new direction. yea...i'll start lookin for another fullback when...idk, i usually just end up w/ a FB

WR-Roddy White/Michael Jenkins/Harry Douglas: White is a top 10 WR in the league right now but is going to want a HUGE extension soon, but he'll get paid by my Falcons. Jenkins and Douglas both improved big time last year and should see continued improvement. I might try to improve the WR core behind White, but probably leave intact until the 2010 draft. no...not for year 1. im going get marvin harrison or amani toomer for a 1 or 2 year deal. ill give douglas more looks than jenkins cuz he's younger/faster/ and prolly has more potential.

TE-Gonzalez: Well, well well, what have we here? Best TE in the league? But he's in his 30s and he's going to start going downhill quickly, so I may try to parlay him into another good TE after the 2009 season. agree here again, ill prolly use a 3rd or 4th round in year 2 or see what players become free agents. i love throwing to the TE

OL: Continue to develop the OL as his with the young guys and get some backup depth and then draft for success in the 2010 draft. a center first, hopefully McClure can last 2 more years. Baker and Clabo will be solid for years.

Defense... um, well, I could draft D in every round for the next two drafts and it still wouldn't help. we can't disagree here, they have no speed at all right now. ill go to FAs and get Derrick Brooks, that way i can have 3 solid LBs. ill also get Chris McCalister, he can play 2nd CB or ill move him to safety. the draft will have to be CB or Safety, if no good first rounders ill have to trade down or go w/ a LE (anderson aint cuttin it). but defensive picks will be the first 2 rounds for the next 2 years. but im sure ill find something in the off season

Good assessments all around I think. You're probably right about Turner but with the way RBs seem to digress at 30 in Madden, it may be best to move on in a few years.

yea i just saw that ty law and mike mckenzie are still in free agents. i need veteran leadership lol, ill have to look at their stats. i can't really deal w/ slow DBs but ill take "proven" coverage and good awareness over...well the opposite

Re: Miami Dolphins Franchise

QB- pennington will start the season and the in will look to play henne more and more with White running the wildcat. hope to develope either one of these youngsters to become my future QB. Hoping that i do not need to spend a draft pick on this position for at least 3 years.

RB- Brown is set as my workhorse for atleast 2 more years. will upgrade via draft after my SECOND season. trade away ricky

FB- would like to upgrade here but only after i address bigger needs. do not use FB too much other than run blocking. will most likely upgrade via FA since it sucks drafting a FB.

WR. Ginn #1, experiment with Turner at #2..wuold LOVE to turn him into a threat at WR. will trade either bess or camarillo(still up in the air on which one to trade). will also try to get rid of wilford ANYWAY i can. trade London also? maybe after the first season as i cant see myself moving 3 WR in one year.

TE- love fasano, but will need to upgrade here through draft.

OL- would like to adress RG right away. i like playing behind a solid Oline and i am almost there.

DL- DE's are set for many years. will look to upgrade DT through trade (glen dorsey or A. Okoye?)

LB- will try to find a good build to create Wake(70-75 ovr???)
Alleman may be traded if i can use him to upgrade a bigger need.

CB- set for YEARS with Davis and Smith. may trade Allen and sign either Surtain or Madison if allen goes.

DB- i like both Bell and WIlson, but i would like to add more speed here. i like the iddea of moving J. Allen back to safety from CB.

all these moves will most likely not be made in the first year of my franchise as i like playing with the real rosters for the most part in year 1.

ideally i would like to stockpile draft picks through trades, if possible, to get younger. not sure whether i should import NCAA draft class or the hand made class to see how they are.

Re: Miami Dolphins Franchise

When I'm not playing franchise, I want to import my Road to Glory USC running back from NCAA 10, and try and get drafted by the dolphins. I'll probably quit and restart the draft over and over until the dolphins take me haha. I love the uni's, and I want to see what the wildcat is like from the Superstar camera

Re: Miami Dolphins Franchise

I've decided to take on a bit of a challenge. My first franchise will be with none other than the Detroit Lions. Here is what I intend on doing with their roster. Feedback is appreciated!

QBs-Kind of stuck with Stafford at this point (unless you can start a franchise before the draft a la HC09). Stanton is kind of a weak 3rd string, so I'll look to find another QB in the later rounds and groom him to eventually be my backup when Daunte retires. Speaking of Dante, he'll probably be my day 1 starter until he effs up.

HBs-Smith is pretty nice. He is more of an agile back and I prefer power backs, but I'm pretty much stuck here. Since my roster is in shambles, I'll really have to wait to mess around with this position. Morris is a suitable backup.

FBs-Terrelle Smith is a good fit for my offense. He's got 78 rblk, but his 61 injury rating makes me think I might need to find a better backup. I'll probably pick up a free agent, depending on whats around.

WRs-Calivin is a freak and I'll lock him down for my #1 target for the next 7-10 years. I love rookie Derrick Williams in the slot, and Antonio Bryant is a solid #2. For the time being, I'm happy with my recievers. I'll probably dish Curry for a low round draft pick, or package him to bolster my lines.

TEs-Pettigrew is a great young prospect. Fitzsimmons is a solid #2, but I'd like to pick up an H-Back who can get downfield in the TE spot and also provide me with some depth and a recieving option at FB.\

OL-Cherilus and Peterman will lock down the right side of my line for a while, while my center Raiola will be productive for a few more years. The left side is in need of serious attention, and ideally I'd like to get a LT in the first round of next years draft. LG will be adressed in the 3rd/4th round or in free agency.

DL-The DLine is a complete mess, particularly at DT. Grady Jackson and Chuck Darby are well into their 30s, and not too stellar to begin with. This will be a real area of concern for me in the first couple of years. If I can't find a good LT prospect, I'll go DT in the first round. I need to protect my excellent LBs. As far as DEs are concerned, Cliff Avril shows some promise as a pass rusher. Dewayne White is decent, and I'll probably stick him in at LE. Need to get some depth here, too. But DT and LT are my main concerns.

LBs-LOVE my linebackers: Peterson, Sims, and Foote. I'll draft another OLB and groom him to be Petersons replacement, while providing depth for me at the same time. I'd like to trade for Zach Deossie if possible. Great special teamer.

CBs-Outside of Phillip Buchanon, I'm really weak at this position. I'd like to take care of my lines first, but if the right CB is available I'll snag him. Anthony Henry is more of a Tampa2 corner, and thats not my style. King will be decent at nickel, but I'll try to find someone a bit quicker to replace him.

FS-Delmas will be a fixture here for years. Real excited about watching him develop. Alexander is a decent backup for the time being. Won't do much here.

SS-Bullocks is a liablity here at 70 overall, but like I said I've got greater concerns. After DT, LT, and CB is adressed, I'll probably upgrade the SS position.
