I haven't seen the icons in the demo or any of the videos so I am going to assume they are?

If so, good riddance, all they did was clutter up the screen, and you couldn't turn the icons off while playing online which drove me nuts.

Another bad Madden gimmick that failed.

And honestly, I'm glad it's out. It was stupid and too arcadey.

NBA2K has it to a point and it doesn't bother me. Should be optional.

It is optional, just off by default. I actually kind of liked the icons, though I hated how they changed how the players played. In a perfect world, I wish I could leave the icons on but weapons off, if that makes any sense. Then I could see at a glance exactly where Asomugha was lined up, etc.
