2009 vs. 2010 Draft Comparsion

I decided to do this comparison for those of you who are concerned about Rookie's being imported from NCAA10. For this analysis I used the incoming rookies for Madden 10's rating's, along with GCHD's draft simulation for the 2010 draft class.

http://www.gamespot.com/sports/blogs...d-screens.html

http://www.gamecinemahd.com/article/...lation-results

Of the 32 draftee's the total accumulative rating points is:
2520 for the 09 class and
2410 for the 2010 class.

That's a average rating of :
78.75 for 09 and
75.2135 for 2010.

Breakdowns

Total player's Per-Position

2009
QB- 3
RB- 3
WR- 6
TE- 1
OT- 4
C- 2
DE- 5
DT- 3
LB- 3
CB- 2

2010
QB- 3
RB- 2
WR- 3
TE- 1
OT- 3
C- 1
DE- 7
DT- 4
LB- 3
CB- 2
S- 3

Total Players' Per-Rating's Range

2009
85-89 = 2
80-84= 8
75-79= 19
70-74= 3
65-69 = 0
60-64= 0

2010

85-89 = 2
80-84= 10
75-79= 8
70-74= 6
65-69 = 2
60-64= 3
55-59= 1

As you can see there are more player's rated 80+ in 2010. However, the average player rating's drop because there are no player's with a rating less than 70 in 2009.

This seem's pretty fair and accurate IMO. However, I do realize that most people may be more concerned with the draft classes after the first few season's, due to NCAA's progression issues and freshman coming in so highly rated. Hopefully, with the new draft (gems/bust) scouting will become way more important, that way no of us draft a player rated 55 in the first round

Ya, I was thinking today, damn, I need to rent NCAA and I still think I do. But I do remember I simmed a season, and right after I had 5 players on Penn State that were 99, and a bunch of other teams have 99. I'd like to see someone post draft classes from year 2 or 3 to see how it works.

But the first class with Tebow, Colt, Bradford seem to be pretty balanced. Also, how do we know the gem/bust feature will be included in the draft classes

I'm not 100% sure of the gems/bust are in the game this year and if they if they work properly. However, if you draft a star in college with your 1st round pick and they come in rated 60-65 then, I would consider that a bust. Especially, if there's a player .drafted later, at the same position ranked 75-79.

One of my main concerns is scouting not working again this year. Because if scouting really matter's, it going to bring a whole new element to the game. And it's going to be off the chain!!

Nice research, but like many other people my concern is a couple years into the imported draft classes. But i completely agree with you jeremy, if the scouting works and actually matters it makes the game so much better, at least to me. Drafting and scouting is one of my favorite parts of franchise.

Steve picked in the 3rd round a guy projected to be in the 2nd and he was a 47 overall that is an example of the gem/bust draft feature.

I wonder if the Vikes traded Bryant McKinnie in that trade to move up.. Seems strange even by Madden logic, why not take Bradford there?
