I've noticed in past years that a player could have generally good stats but if their awareness is low they'll take a hit in their OVR rating. So how does it effect how they play?

i hate to say this, but this has been answered many times. use the search tool (ugh, i sound like an "OS vet")

Well said. If you search for "awareness" you will find your answer within the first two pages of the search
