how do i do formation subs?

Cant seem to find out how to do it and i dont want to start a franchise until can. TIA

if you make the changes in the play selection screen they get carried over from game to game i think. i don't think you an put in certain players at certain positions though. like no percy harvin at QB for the shotgun or I formation for example since he's listed as a WR. cocrret me if I'm wrong.
