What position do you initially control on D?

i take demarcus ware and go to town. Actually it would probably make more sense to just let him do his thing and take the weaker link but i like playing that position and he is really good.

QB on offense.
DT on defense.

Since Ian refuses to add a player lock feature to Madden, I'm forced to make up my own.

i play as safety because the AI safeties are stupid and are always in no mans land

Do you guys usually switch to the defender closest to the ball when a pass is thrown or do you stay as the same defender throughout the play?

I start off as Dline or safety.

If i'm on the dline, and the ball is thrown, i switch to the nearest defender and attempt to swat/pick/tackle.

I want to play as every player.

Although this makes the game a lot easier, because CPU awareness is replaced with yours.

Yeah, I usually switch as well. It seems like the CPU players on my team are so much worse than the defenders on the opposite team. The qb always finds open recievers and usually finishes with a high completion percentage.
