I am wanting to start a franchise this weekend after finally getting some sliders that are working for me, but I don't want to have to start over when the patch comes out. Does anyone know if I will have to start over to take full advantage of the patch in gameplay? Nobody knows when the patch is coming out and I don't want to wait anymore.

You won't need to start over. The patch will be active in an existing franchise.

Non roster patches do effect already started franchises. So your good to go.

Not that I doubt you, but is this how it was last year. I never played a franchise in last years Madden because I could never get that excited about it.

This is how patches work in general for every game that I know of.
