Honestly I was against the idea of slow at first, but when I got the game I decided to try it out. I found that the gameplay was so much improved and enjoyable I decided to keep it.

I see a lot of threads about AI problems and gitches, and 80% of those I have not seen and I can only surmise its because I play on slow. Maybe thats not the reason, but I find the game to be much more enjoyable when you get used to it.

Why is the slow speed setting sim and the others not?
I can't really answer this because I've never really got the argument for sim vs non sim, its all a game to me. But I would guess it allows for you and the CPU to make better decisions, creating a more realistic game.

Re: Question for Those Pro-Slow Players.....

Slow adds strategy.

With other speeds, the game becomes a turbo-fest. Its get the screen and take off down field with a quick running back. Its get the ball into the flats and get yards easy.

With the game on slow, it masks some of the defects in this game, and allows users on defense to try to make plays. Its allows me to try to make a play with my linebacker on a running back because plays take a little bit more time to develop. It allows me to better shut down a glaring fundamental weakness in the game which are the flats. The pocket actually forms, and while players can still get pressure with the right schemes, you cant just grab a RE and get him in the pocket after 2 seconds every play.

I feel it plays more natural.

I can't get sacks on slow but love it otherwise. Any tips?

Lets say you are team with 5 good linebackers.

Try moving a slower linebacker to a weaker end position.

Usually OLBs have better ratings and end position anyway and therefore you can have more speed then ordinary end.

This allows you to get around tackles faster.

I use the Steelers and that doesn't help when I go to a Nickel and Dime D when Harrison and Woodley are on the line. At this point I'm just gonna butch sliders. It's frustrating as heck to get sacks whether I do it manual or not on slow. Plus in the 3-4 Harrison is next to Keisel who is a lower DE and still doesn't do anything.

You cant blitz or youll leave the flats.

I had drafted a guy in franchise who I was able to beast with.

He was a linebacker who I converted to RE because he was a tad too slow, but with a good swim move he got about tackles and created hell.
