How to get the FS involved in the mix?

I play as the Ravens and thought going in that I'd love having Ed Reed patrolling the left side of the field and going crazy with INT's and picks.

The problem is I can't get him in the play. Most defensive plays put the FS in deep coverage, which is incredibly conservative in this game (30+ yard drops). This means that 20 yard passes can fall in easily without Reed getting near the ball, which is unacceptable for me.

So what do you all do to get your star FS in the play?

Here are some initial brainstorm ideas to kick things off, but none have been sufficiently effective for me:

1. Man up Ed-- this gets him in the play, but he's only average in man coverage. I'd rather find a way to utilize his 99 zone coverage.

2. Find plays with short zone coverages for Ed--- i haven't been able to find these thus far, and am worried about the deep ball.

3. Manually pulling Ed closer to the LOS pre-snap--- this makes some difference, but Ed is so fast he gets way back there very quickly.

Let's get a discussion going about the best way to get FS in the game.

If I am correct, you can move to him manually and press and hold A and then autiable his single assignment(not exactly sure the exact buttons to make the autiable happen but it should show up in the help part in the upper corner after/while you hold down the A button) into a lower flat zone/medium zone which will prevent him from dropping back into deep coverage.

I have not tried it yet and wont be able to play madden tonight to test it but I hope this helps.

Use either Cover 1 or Cover 1 Robber (forgot which one has the FS playing shallow).

Another thing you can do with these is if one has the SS playing shallow then flip the play.

I believe there are some formations with a cover 3 where the FS plays shallow too

Sub Reed to play CB or Nickle that is what I do.

Cover 1, cover 1 robber, wham lurk, cover 3, man, or manually change his assignment to something shallower.
