Any point in playing preseason games? Do players Progress/regress?

Is there any point at all? Do players progress/regress in preseason or only offseason?

They only progress/regress in the offseason, not in preseason. IMO, there should be some kind of logic coded in where the rookies don't have their ratings shown until after preseason kinda like Head Coach did.

Gives us a reason to play the preseason games. Right now it's pointless.

I hate that my answer to this question is also 'no'. Other than escaping without major injuries lol.

Yes, this is a big gripe of mine.

THe only outcome that can come from preseason is your players get hurt.

With no expanded rosters (reason to play backups) and no progression, preseason unfortunately holds no purpose.

I look at it as a chance to familiarize myself with my playbook and adjust sliders etc. (as well as knocking off the rust since I have not played madden for the past few months)

But no, there isn't a point to it as far as it relates to your franchise (and turning injuries off is a must IMO).
