My guess is that if it has to do with game play (ie fixing flats) you will not have to re-start you franchise. An example is last year we didn't have to re-start when they patched the CPU players running out of bounce.

However, if it has to do with franchise stats I believe we will have to restart. It's something that would effect the entire franchise similar to a roster update. But, like I said that just my guess. We probably won't know til next week.

Last year you had to restart your franchise for the patch to work so i'd assume it'll be the same this year.

Sorry, I forgot you are a dev on the game or had my franchise problem... oh wait, you're not and you probably didn't... and seeing as your statements aren't the be all and end all...YES I DID HAVE TO RESTART MY FRANCHISE.

Last year my Franchise file kept freezing at the same points and despite installing the patch, it still froze... so I had to restart my franchise and franchise mode was fixed, for me.

So as I stated before, I did have to restart my franchise for the patch to work... and since the OP didn't specify what he was hoping to fix with the patch, neither of us are incorrect... difference being I chose not to be a jerk about it.
