What the... Is this supposed to happen?

So I was playing online, using the Chargers against this guy who was using the Eagles. It was a tied at 7-7, until I started to drive it down the field late in the 4th.

Anyways, when I got down to the red zone, I called a time-out with only 3 seconds left. I kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired and made it. I'm thinking sweet, game over.

But OOPS!!! One of my linemen "mysteriously" gets called for holding. So I'm thinking, no problem right?, I can still make this.

That is... until it proceeded to go to overtime leaving me with a "WTF" look on my face. It didn't even give me a do over, it just went right into overtime, and the other guy was laughing his a$$ off on mic. I left the game because I was so frustrated. I didn't even care to win or lose it in overtime.

Is this how it's supposed to be though? Does this happen in the NFL, or is it some Madden glitch?

I see other people have had similar experiences on holding when it comes to game-winning field goals as well.

"The other day online I got called for holding with 3 seconds left in a 7-7 game. I made a chip shot FG but it didn't count because of it. I still won in OT or else I would have flipped."

Funny, how I had that exact same experience.

It'll be fixed on the first patch.

I havent run into the issues other people have thankfully. Through 1 season, I think I have seen a total of 6-8 holding calls on FGs and XP attempts and none in game winning situations (probably since I havent been involved in too many of those since I went 2-14 in year 1 with the Bungles)
