From what I am seeing, the Running touchdowns are going up and passing touchdowns are going down. Now Tom Brady is still racking up touchdowns since the Pats pass all day in my franchise with usually around 10-15 rushing attemps. But a lot of teams wont throw for many TDs because they run so much. In my 'chise the Vikings have a rookie QB and Adrian Peterson took 47 carries. Maybe a little exaggerated but it is pretty awesome. I think Peterson has a shot at the rushing yards record, yet he has no TDs. Many backs have TDs though as many have 3 through 2 games. Matt Ryan and Tom Brady have 8 TDs while most have 5.

Re: The way to play franchise mode

I started controlling all teams back in 2005, mainly because the draft logic sucked and I got tired of seeing the Colts draft a QB in the 1st round 2 years in a row with Manning still on the team.

IMO, the draft logic is still bad, but improved. I also play with the salary cap off. I dont take advantage by loading up my team at all.....this just allows me to go through the teams after simming the draft, and "clean up" any draft choices that dont make sense. For instance, I notice that for some reason Detroit drafter Terrell Pryor in the 2nd round. That doesnt make any sense, so I pick a team that actually needs a QB, and trade TP to them. If I had the salary cap on, I wouldnt be able to keep the teams realistic because of salary cap penalties.

Just IMHO, this is the ONLY way to have a realistic, fun franchise that you can stick with for many years. If you havent already, I would strongly suggest trying it. Little piece of advice, sim the free agent signing period (unless you want to click "accept" 1000 times for every signing for every team. I still focus mainly on my 49ersm but I cant play dynasty any other way.

Yea, I'd like to see how everyone does there coaching scheme.. Random? Aggressiveness? run to pass Ratio??? do you use 90 to 10 for every team or just a few??? Would like to try this, not so worried about game sliders, but dont know where to start with coaching schemes. thanks

Coaching Schemes

Offense

Run vs. Pass (Based off run vs. pass ratio last year)
Minnesota 20
Baltimore 30
Carolina 30
Tennessee 30
Oakland 40
Atlanta 40
Giants 40
Washington 40
Miami 40
Buffalo 40
New York Jets 40
San Diego 50
Seattle 50
Pittsburgh 50
St. Louis 50
Jacksonville 50
Cleveland 60
Chicago 60
Tampa Bay 60
Green Bay 60
Cincinatti 60
Houston 60
San Fransisco 60
Philadelphia 60
Dallas 60
Kansas City 60
Detroit 60
Indianapolis 70
New England 70
New Orleans 70
Denver 70
Arizona 70

These are based off of last year, but I changed New Englands because of Tom Bradys injury from 40 to 70 since they decided to run more without him. I also changed the Jets since they have a different philosophy now. These are less extreme schemes, but accurate to last years style of play.

Aggression (based on 4th down attempts last year)
Jacksonville 100
St. Louis 100
Houston 100
New England 90
Oakland 90
Detroit 90
Green Bay 80
Kansas City 80
Minnesota 80
New Orleans 80
Tampa Bay 80
Buffalo 70
Indianapolis 70
Jets 70
Arizona 70
Washington 70
Miami 60
Chicago 60
Cincinatti 60
Cleveland 60
Atlanta 50
Dallas 50
Pittsburgh 50
Seattle 50
Tennessee 40
Giants 40
San Diego 40
San Fransisco 40
Baltimore 40
Denver 30
Philadelphia 20
Carolina 10

Defense

Run vs. Pass (Based of defensive rushing and pass stats last year)
Colts 100
Seahawks 90
Panthers 80
Giants 80
Vikings 80
Patriots 70
Browns 60
Bears 60
Jets 60
Broncos 60
Redskins 60
Eagles 60
Chargers 60
Chiefs 50
Packers 50
Bengals 50
Falcons 50
Cardinals 50
Steelers 50
Raiders 50
49ers 50
Texans 50
Dolphins 40
Lions 40
Rams 40
Jaguard 40
Buccaneers 30
Saints 30
Ravens 30
Cowboys 20
Bills 10
Titans 10

Defensive Aggressiveness (Based off of percentage of plays team blitzed)

Cowboys 100
Vikings 100
Eagles 100
Bears 90
Ravens 90
Steelers 90
Lions 80
Titans 80
Jets 80
Cardinals 70
Rams 70
Seahawks 70
Dolphins 70
Jaguars 60
Panthers 60
Bills 60
49ers 50
Falcons 50
Bengals 50
Saints 50
Chargers 50
Giants 50
Patriots 40
Browns 40
Redskins 40
Raiders 30
Buccaneers 30
Texans 20
Broncos 20
Packers 10
Chiefs 10
Colts 10

This is a great tool for how much teams blitz you. When you play the Chiefs almost all the linebackers will drop back instead of blitz. When playing the Eagles expect 5-6 men to rush you almost every play.

Re: The way to play franchise mode

Thanks for all the scheme info...I think you guys have convinced me to start a new franchise after the patch comes out controlling all 32 but focusing on rebuilding my Lions (which seems as hard in this game as IRL).

Re: The way to play franchise mode

RB 1 vs. RB2 (Based of projected and rushing attempts last year)

Cardinals 60
Falcons 70
Ravens 60
Bills 60
Panthers 60
Bears 90
Bengals 70
Browns 70
Cowboys 50
Broncos 70
Lions 80
Packers 80
Texans 80
Colts 60
Jaguars 90
Chiefs 70
Dolphins 70
Vikings 80
Patriots 50 (They is almost no way to get all 4 running backs playing but have Taylor and Maroney 1st and 2nd and Faulk as the 3rd down back. Morris gets left out though)
Saints 60 (Insert Mike Bell as 3rd down so he gets some carries.)
Giants 70
Jets 60
Raiders 60
Eagles 70
Steelers 70
Rams 90
Chargers 60
49ers 80
Seahawks 80
Buccaneers 50
Titans 50
Redskins 90

Remember after every year to change the coaching schemes for each team. So if McCoy is getting better and Westbrook is getting older, make it 60. Same with Run vs. Pass for offense. If a team is starting a rookie QB then you should most likely make it 30. Hope Ive helped put some more excitement in your franchises.
