weird/crazy lateral

i was playing my friend and i was the broncos and he was the dolphins and i forget who it was but my guy was running down the sideline on a breakaway and one of his guys was catching up quick and mean quick so i saw someone behind my guy and to the left so i thought i would try a lateral to him (seemed like a good idea) so my guy does some weird like jump and like spike the ball animation and the ball bounces off the ground and like shoots way up in the air and across the field out of bounds.. it was crazy weird and i just paused in and laughed

Sounds pretty funny. I keep forgetting the lateral button is even in the game. I used it for the first time today at the end of the first half, threw a hail mary. Worked out for me though.

It's the left trigger I think.
