Poll: Please post your honest opinion

Is this game worth getting? I've heard so many negatives about this game, but then, I heard it's the best Madden to date.

Can someone confirm if I should get this game? Or wait another season for 2011..

Best Madden on the Next-Gen Console, however, this is NOT the best Madden of all time. if i was you i would rent this game first. instead of pointing out the things that are good about the game, i can point out the bad for you. (no bashing)

1)IR in Franchise doesn't work, so when you put a player on IR he kills the roster spot - and you cannot release him. you have to release a fresh player in order to fill that void.

2) Offensive Lineman/Defensive Lineman interaction is terrible, the ratings are just numbers and those attributes are ornaments for a Christmas tree. You can put a Punter or Kicker as a lineman and he will pancake Jared Allen.

3) Go to youtube.com and search for RyanMoody21 and Apexisfree videos.

Hope that helps your decision..

Thanks a lot, yea I've seen some of those videos where like Wes Walker was a blocker, and he took someone down. It's really ugly..

But what about franchise and overall gameplay? Is it manageable? Is it still fun? Will it get boring really quick?

I guess I'll try renting it first, but I was going to buy it for sure a couple months back.

Re: Poll: Please post your honest opinion

I am a 2Ker, so I might sound biased. I am used to playing NFL 2K5 franchise mode, so I am a little nit-picky of what you can and cannot do so, this is my honest opinion about it.

The Franchise in Madden is like a chore, although an improvement from Madden 09 - there still is a lot of problems. The IR is bad, when you get an injured player you HAVE to release him. You put him on IR it wont free up a spot. If you lose 5 players for the year, you have to release them - no matter if its Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Bob Sanders, Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark - they cannot stay on your team, they're taking up space.

Contract signings for Rookies is ridiculous and a game-killer for me. You go to sign a top rookie and he does not want that desired pay (like in real life) BUT the downfall if you don't sign them, they take the original offer from other teams. Say you draft Carlos Dunlap and the price for him is 400,000 but hes asking for 800,000. You don't sign him, the CPU will take him for 400,000. Really big problem.

The AFL gimmick package they're selling and the Max Packs are ridiculous. AFL only works for one year. EA is making us pay even more for a game to keep a player out of retirement, scouting reports, all this non-sense that used to be free with 'Madden Cards' back in the day. They are taking advantage of the licensing and its as Gideon Prime says 'abuse of capitilism.'

Franchise, is it manageable? If you aren't a hardcore football fan, then you're good - but putting your effort into progressing players, ordering your depth chart for no reason when the ratings and attributes do not mean a thing. Honestly, it is just like a placebo.

Alternatives: I say you should go and buy NFL 2K5, update the rosters (which is free), you get the schedule, and at the end of the year the real draft class WITHOUT purchasing an NCAA game.

EDIT: Also, the playoff seeding is incorrect.

Re: Poll: Please post your honest opinion

I actually have NFL 2k5 for the PS2, but I just wanted a change for a game. I don't know, the graphics on Madden look really good this year, and the demo wasn't all that bad.

I see about the signing and IR issues.. That might be a big factor because I am a BIG franchise guy. I don't know I think I'll just wait for the #2 patch to come out (The Stats patch) and see from there..

Thanks a lot, you were a lot of help, but the poll says I should buy it haha.

Best Madden? You bet.

Best football game? No.

Worth it? I'd have to say no, given patch #1 totally failed. If they were to actually give us a worthy patch that fixed things properly, then it may be worth it. But, in your case, why buy a broken game that isn't going to be fixed?

What is the point of franchise when Wes Welker is an all star blocker? That should tell you that there is no importance in hiring good OL, which essentially gives you a major unfair advantage, thus ruining the mode.

Im not a 2ker but i hav to say that 2k is better now. Old maddens were better, but now madden sucks cuz they dont try anymore since they hav license. Plus i played the APF 2k8 demo 2 days ago. and that was better than the full game of Madden
