i reset my ps3 settings. (i think my hard drive). i loaded madden back up and i think i lost the patch , as i dont see the afl menu prompt anymore. i have not been prompted to download anything. is there a way to download again or see if the patch is there or not?

Make sure your ethernet cable is plugged in and then sign in to the network while the game is running.
