Could be done on purpose - KFC and the other Advertisers could have paid EA to do that. EA craves money (see Madden Shop). KFC could of thrown a few extra bucks to purposely do that cause if youre hungry playing Madden... it'll make you eat. No different than driving by a McDonalds and you smell the burgers when youre not inside the restaurant. that is a way to attract people. so this may not even be broken in-game

i have never seen this! how can it be different from 1 console to another? ive never seen an ad pop up in game

I read (either here or on the GameFaqs board, not sure) that if you put your banners to minimal (under Visual Feedback) you won't get ads.

Not sure how true this is, but I don't see any and I've been set to minimal ever since seeing this.

I even go online to get roster updates - no ads.

Me too.

There is only one sure fire way to avoid these pop-ads. Disconnect from your router. Simply playing offline isn't enough you have to be disconnected completely then re-fire your console for it to stop.
