Re: Madden plays differently on different TV's

I'm from Jersey too. Currently living in NY.

Let me just say WRONG

South Jersey- Eagles (where im from)

North Jersey/Most of NY (Not Buffalo)- Giants

Jets fans are scattered, I know mainly Giants fans and the number of NYG fans to NYJ fans is at least 10 to 1 in the area. (Albany, Saratoga etc)

Re: Madden plays differently on different TV's

I have a Sony Vega Flat Screen TV, I bought it before flat panel was even out for consumer retail.

Flat Screen can be both Tube and non-tube
Flat Panel is all non-tube

It's people that aren't educated on TV knowledge are the ones who made "Flat Screen" also mean Flat Panel.

My qualifications are working in Circuit City and Radio Shack and all the test make you know the difference between Flat Screen and Flat Panel.

So, the way that people are using the term "flat screen" in this thread (to mean high def TV) is a correct usage of the term, right?

Re: Madden plays differently on different TV's

Some, not all, flat screens can show HD. All Flat panel TVs 23 inches or over can produce HD. There are some flat panel under 23 inches than can give HD but not all

Yep, it was all a matter of semantics that was argued just to argue I guess.

There is a reason why I choose to correct people on words when dealing with electronics. Take for example craigslist...you search for Flat Screen TV and you get 100 of posts for it, only 20% of which are flat panel. The other 80% is CRT and most of those aren't even HD. I like to educate some people so if they are looking for an HD Flat Panel that they're using the right terminology so they don't purchase the wrong equipment.

Re: Madden plays differently on different TV's

I wasn't referring to you. You didn't bring it up and make an issue out of it.

The point here is that, yes it was technically being referred to in the "wrong" manner.

But as 2k notes, everyone knew the intention of the thread and what was meant by flat screen versus tube T.V.

There really wasn't a need to stir this into a different debate about semantics when everyone knew what the OP was trying to convey.

Educating the minds of America's youth.
Some would rather insult and all I can gather from that is they really must have a low self-esteem.
Thanks for claifying that for us though.
