Yeah, I thought 7 was what I had read Ian post a couple of months back, but I'm dead last in everything pretty much even though I'm moving the ball fairly well and winning games. I think the problem for me is I'm not accustomed to the interface or the plays, and I'm spending a lot of time looking over the plays trying to find what I like, and thus eating up a lot of clock time that otherwise wouldn't be eaten up. In other words, the accelerated clock approach is probably going to work best for me. That way, I get the extra time when I need it (to pick my play), and have the clock go down quickly when I can find a play quickly (not very often so far).

Gonna play through a few more games at All Pro level, and then bump it up to Madden level and try the new clock settings.

For sim stats, it doesn't matter how many minutes the quarters are, they're always set for 15.

I've found 13 min. quarters with 15 second runoff is best for me when playing.

If you're supersimming, 5-6 minute quarters get the most realistic number of plays.

I've tried 15 min. qtrs with 25 second runoff and though I get a realistic number of plays the yardage and scores are too high. This being a videogame you're going to get more big plays than in real life as it should be. I've been using 10 min. qtrs with 15 second runoff and I get around 100 plays a game but more importantly the yardage and scores are more realistic.

I'm using 15 minute quarters with 20 second runoff... get between 120 - 125 plays per game, and stats are good. Teams seem to stick with the run a bit more. takes just over an hour to play a game.

Current franchise with these settings I'm 4 - 3 with the Seahawks, and ranked 8th in offense (6th in pass, 14th in rush) and 12th in defense (14th in pass, 11th in rush). And Lofa Tatupu has 61 solo tackles (ranked 7th in league)

Ok, going to reset Franchise again and try 12 minutes with accelerated clock. At 7 minutes, I was averaging roughly 75 to 85 plays a game, with is about 20 to 30 plays short from what I want, though the score in my last game was pretty high thanks to 6 INTs thrown by Eli (maybe he was queuing off of Eli's play today?).

Re: Quarter Length for Realistic Stats in Franchise Mode?

First game of Cowboys against Tampa Bay at 12 minutes 25 second accelerated clock (which is too much, need more time to adjust at line) resulted in 91 plays total. Definitely better, but just a little on the low end still. Going to try to reduce the accelerated clock to 15 seconds for the next game.
