Question Quarter Length for Realistic Stats in Franchise Mode?

This has probably been answered several times, but my search kept turning up slider info. What are most people using for a time setting for realistic stats in their franchises? I tried 7 minutes to start, and it looks like it's not quite enough time. Was thinking of trying accelerated clock to get a feel of more time, but wasn't sure if it was accelerated all game long or not (in APF2K8 for example, it was accelerated up to the 2 minute mark).

What are folks using to get realistic stats (with or without accelerated clock).

I believe Ian mentioned that 12 minutes with 15 runoff is the best. Me, personally, I used 13 with 20 second runoff...

Madden also does the last two minutes of each half as no run-off

Thanks. His interview came up and I read it, and it said 12 minutes, but that was for simulated stats. I'll give 12 minutes with accelerated clock a try.

Depending on how you play your game you should see between 110-130 plays and the run and pass stats should be equivilant to weekly NFL stats. If you don't see that on your first few games you might want to check out some sliders in the slider section to even out the stats for ya. There are slider sets for "Myskill" and slow, normal, and fast game speeds....try out a few til you find which one works with your style of madden playing...

Thanks, going to need to get a few more games under my belt before I start messing with speed / sliders. I'm only playing on All Pro right now. Seems to be working fine except the pass rush seems to be non-existent (when I blitz) or immediate (when the comp blitzes), with very little in-between.

I still say that 12 mins with 15 is too long cuz you end up with too much scoring, I play 10 mins 15 sec run off and while my MLB will most likely never make a probowl the scoring seems much more realistic. Perhaps my settings will be perfect after the 2nd patch finally drops and I am completely burned out on playing the game!!!

Re: Quarter Length for Realistic Stats in Franchise Mode?

You can easily find a combination of Time Clock and slider sets that work together to get realistic stats. Thats why I enjoy madden this year. You can make the game cater to how you play the game....if you have the time I'd recommend MySkill. You have to play 20+ games to get it good but it will one of the best experiences you will and then you can find a good timer to play with...
