It was good while it lasted....

Well see ya next year Madden, not sure if I just wasn't blown away after the first few weeks wore off, but I just sold my madden today on eBay, got $45 for it with a buy it now. I swear I haven't touched this game since my last league game was played well over a month ago. And if it wasn't for those few games in my league, I never played the game offline anymore. Here's to hoping next year is a lot better to keep my attention.

Has anyone let Madden go yet?

Re: It was good while it lasted....

1st year I've really had this problem. Ps3 madden looks great, now I can't play a ps2 game, but I hate the way the game plays and even when it doesn't glitch on me, I just find it boring. I resorted to trying APF football and NFL 2k5, searching for evidence backbreaker is a real game, etc. Problem is, I want up to date NFL rosters and schedules in my games.

At least COD will be out soon.

Re: It was good while it lasted....

I really enjoy this year's madden. I got some good sliders based off of the "how do sliders work" thread, hopped in offline franchise and still am having a blast. I even write a blog on here for the dynasty I started.

The thing is, yeah some of the sim stats are a little annoying, but I just hop into other team's games and supersim until particular backs are in the redzone and score with them to correct touchdown stats. I do things like control all 32 teams and change coaching tendencies. Some of these things are a little bit annoying but they make the game all-around more enjoyable so I think that it is worth it. Better then throwing away a 60 $ investment.

Re: It was good while it lasted....

I try to only buy EA games used, and just got my copy a couple weeks back. This is the first Madden that has kept my attention in offline/Franchise mode since NFL 2K5. I'm into my second season, and the commentary is extremely grating now (too dull most of the time, and repetitive when it's not dull). Removal of overlay Ad, better movement, passing mechanics, line play, and commentary are needed to make this something I can play a ton like I did NFL 2K5 and APF2K8 (1000+ games online with it). I won't even buy the game used again next year if they put the overlay Ad in, I'll be done with Madden at that point.

I patiently waiting for the 2nd patch right now. Hoping it addresses some of the imbalances in the game as well as fixes problems with the sliders.

Bad timing. The patch is coming out in the middle of this month.

I know, but I never not played it based on it not having a patch. I just lost interest big-time. I just never played it anymore.

I have been more interest in action/shooter games lately, that I'm growing tiresome of sliders and patches and so on and so forth.
