Pretty much you could change a QB's TKL rating to 99 and it has pretty much zero effect on his rating OVR!

Great info if true.

Re: Should QB Have a Tackle Rating Thread

To answer the thread title, yes a qb should have tackle ratings. Tackle ratings, however, don't effect a qbs overall as of now and they shouldn't. Just like a kicker has to have a tackle rating but the only 3 ratings that go into their overall are kick power, kick accuracy, and awareness. There is a different formula for each position's overall rating and it only takes into account physical ratings and positional ratings.

Some QB's are better at tackling than other. They do practice it, though not as intensely, obviously, as defensive players. And not all CB's throw equally well. But the throw ratings don't affect their overall. The only things that affect overall ratings are positional ratings relevant to the position they play. So it's already the way you want, so the poll is pointless.

can you name a few QB's who waste reps in practice doing tackling drills?? i'd be suprised

The don't need to practice them to be able to perform tackles in a game. Just because you don't do it in practice, doesn't mean you can't do it in a game.

You don't think they do it in Training Camp? It's not something they do all year, but I'll guarantee you, they go over it a little in camp, just like any offensive player or kicker. They're not being taught form tackling, but you better believe they go over taking a guys legs out.

Re: Should QB Have a Tackle Rating Thread

I'm sure they teach them to how to tackle a bit...some is not most are told to get out the way because good defenses like the Ravens take adv of the chance to hit the QB

Re: Should QB Have a Tackle Rating Thread

Regardless if they pracice, there are times when they have to tackle. Let's face it, big Ben can likely tackle better than a smaller qb.
