Now I understand that QB's throw bad passes.....

but WHY do those bad passes have to go directly to the defense?

I'm in the conference championship game in my Raiders franchise with 67 rated JaMarcus Russell. I understand when I have to throw, Russell is gonna throw some bad balls. But on 3 seperate occasions I had a receiver WIDE open and Russell threw a great ball....to the defense.

Now I understand that there has to be overthrows, underthrows, etc. If Rusell would have missed them...hey, no problem. But he threw a perfect pass to a defender on the other side of the field....3 times!

It just felt super scripted. Cost me a trip to the super bowl!

LOL this is hilarious, i agree completely. More often than not it'll hit the defensive back right in the chest, nothings quite as frustrating. I just don't use bad rated quarterbacks now.

I just stopped trying to lead the throw with him. In my first season with my Raider chise I threw way more picks than TD's. I was going to stick with Russell until at least the end of his contract but I saw VY sitting in the FA pool before the pre-season and now he's my starter and I'm just waiting for Russell's contract to run out and won't resign him.

I like that they are making each QB feel different but, yeah too often my passes go to the other team.

Re: Now I understand that QB's throw bad passes.....

This has been on my mind the last few days. I'm trying to tweak QB accuracy to get my desired result. What am I looking for? I like the amount of incomplete passes, but I'd like to see balls that go just over the outstretched arms of the receivers or passes that just barely sail out of bounds.

No doubt M10 has made progress with incomplete passes. But like it's been said, sometimes it does feel scripted. I only get that feeling when it's way off the mark. That's why I'm messing with QB accuracy.

Still, in the future, I'd like to see closer incomplete passes: one's that the WR stretches for and doesn't come down with it, or balls that are bobbled (think NCAA had this last yr).

Yeah, the passing engine just makes passes go to SOMEONE. It's hard to get just plain ol' incomplete passes.

About the only times I see just regular off target passes is on sideline throws (too late and the "auto-lead" will take the pass out of bounds), on deep throws (especially me as I suck at throwing deep), mostly for the AI, sometimes on crossing/drag/slants if the QB has to throw it too early or throws it too hard, it can just go into the ground.

Instead it's usually dropped picks, occasional deflects, and once in a while a hit that knocks the ball loose. I mean a real hit, not WR bumped the DB while the ball was in his hand and somehow that knocked it loose stuff.

Sounds almost like what Jamarcus Russel does in real life? I understand your complaint, but he is a terribly rated QB. Russel should never be able to lead a team to a Super Bowl, even in a video game!

Let me know how this goes.
