Problems changing positions in offline franchise

I'm sure it is something obvious that I'm missing, but any idea why in my 2nd season I can't change positions (MLB > LOLB in this case) now at the start of my second season?

During the first season I was able to swap a few players around with no problems, but now I can't seem to do it anymore. I tried in both the preseason and teh regular season and it won't allow me to save the changes, only giving me the choices to abandon changes or cancel. I know it is not due to roster limitations (I figured that isse out in yr 1), so I even snagged an extra FA pickup just to ensure I was still w/in the roster req's. I also tried moving a few diff players just to see if it would let me and I got the same thing.

Thanks for the help, I just picked up a late round steal I wasn't planning on working out and want to move him permanently.

So your saying no black message goes over the player on the right hand side when you change the position?

Correct. I am aware of that issue as I saw it the first season when I tried to move someone. That was easy enough to avoid. I have 3 MLBs, 2 ROLBs, 2 LOLBs and it won't let me move one of those MLBs to the outside. It is also do the same w/ my LT (3/2/2/2/2) across my line. I know in past Maddens there were certain times of the year you could move positions, is this true in M10?
