Re: Salary Cap

I think in real life the cap will only be gone for one season, in madden you can't change it back so its not realistic.

Re: Salary Cap

If I am running a 32 team franchise I turn it off and I go through the resigning period for every team that way players get released and I make sure teams don't over sign in free agency as well. But if I only user control one team then I leave it on.

Re: Salary Cap

I'm starting to consider turning salary cap off and just use house rules to prevent myself from over signing FA. I've found that after a few seasons, the AI controlled teams start to release franchise players because the built-in logic for off-season signing is so terrible. Roughly into 6-7 years of my franchise mode, all the AI teams are terrible because they draft horribly and release good players due to cap restraint.

Either that, or I might just have to control all 32 teams...

Controlling them all is the way to go for many reasons. I like to keep the cap on because I figure it'll be back and Madden really doesn't give you a good idea of how much you're making every year etc so it would be useless to turn it off....it adds nothing to the game.

Re: Salary Cap

I am now controlling all 32 teams and I keep the cap off, but try to stay under certain figures with different teams. Examples would be the Eagles not spending alot on WR's and the Cowboys signing big names in free agency. I find that it makes it easier since I dont run into the salary cap restraint problem 5 years in...
