challenge

now i've read about people saying they check replays, the receiver was clearly out of bounds, but their challenge was lost and it was still a completed pass. I can live with that to an extent.

But this one really baffles me...anyone have this happen? -

I was playing my friend. Ran for a first down, or at least it looked like i was about a yard past the first down line. chain gang animation pops up, says I am short bringing me to 4th and inches. I call the challenge, call stands! I check the replay. yep i was about 1-2 yards further upfield than they had me marked. Loss of a timeout. Oh well, I figure the animations and location didnt match up exactly like the catch out of bounds. whatever. but the playcall screen pops up and what does it say?
