I had play like that on a deeper route - think it was a post where the WR was going for the ball, the FS came from behind and made the pick - but was called for pass interference (and on the replay, the FS did indeed "push" the WR out of the way to get the ball - it wasn't a push per se, but he launched his body through the arms of the WR). That needs to happen more often as well. It's hard for a DB to do what you describe without causing contact before the ball gets there.
I agree - better animations/interactions (and less passive WR) which could create the chance for more interference penalties as it would in real life.
